As you may have spotted in this month's Mollie Makes we are super excited to reveal we're going to  be at Vintage on the Southbank at the end of the month. Hoopla!

Earlier this year when word got round Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway were taking their iconic festival to the big smoke, we put our hands hand high in the air and said we want to come, oh yes we do!

Vintage runs from the 29-31 July 2011 and promises to be an amazing weekend celebrating British creativity as part of the Festival of Britain's 60th anniversary. Not only will the entire Royal Festival Hall will be dressed and packed with all kinds of delights from vintage makeovers, dance workshops to top retailers and live performances there will be loads of things going on for free. Along the great River Thames there will be over 250 stalls of vintage clothes and accessories, home ware, records and upcycled ephemera.

Mollie Makes will be joining lots of other crafty types to host a brilliant free crafternoon on each of the days. The crafty workshops will have a make-do-and-mend spirit with a modern eco friendly twist giving visitors the chance to try out everthing from knitting, crafting from recycled materials and quilting.

What are we planning we hear you cry! Well, in true Mollie Makes fashion we are very pleased to tell you we are hosting a series of crafternoons with our talented cover star designers! On Friday and Saturday we are teaming up with textile talent Scrapiana for one of her fab strawberry pin cushions workshops and on Sunday visitors can learn with legendary crochet apple cosy creator, the lovely Sara Sinaguglia. Wonderful!

Booking on to a Mollie Makes crafternoon could not be simpler. All you need to do is buy your ticket then come and find us and get signed up! Workshops are free but places are limited, just so you know. Also we regret that bookings are only taken on the day inside the Festival Hall.

Not only will be giving a sneak peak of issue four at the crafternoon  but we will also be running a competition for all Festival Hall visitors to win a fantastic Janome sewing machine worth £300! Wowzers.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
